Introduction/specifics

A warm welcome

Our AWO daycare center includes a crèche, which is located at Jahnstr. 7 -9 in Helmbrechts.

It offers space for 36 children aged 1 to 4 years.

In our open house, we live tolerance, diversity and inclusion. With a gentle and individual acclimatization in nest groups, children and parents are allowed to arrive at their own pace and according to their needs. All children - including those with special needs - and their families are welcome at any time.

Rooms

Our functional rooms offer the children specific incentives to develop various skills:

  • The construction room promotes fine motor skills, spatial thinking and creativity.
  • The sensory table offers various materials to facilitate tactile perception.
  • The creative room allows children to experiment with colours, glue, paper and modelling clay. Children can create their own works and try out different techniques.
  • The movement room supports gross motor development with mats, balls and balancing tracks. It offers opportunities for free play, targeted movement units and relaxation.
  • The role-play room stimulates the imagination and social skills through doll corners, a play kitchen and dressing up. It promotes language development, social interaction and empathy.
  • The sleep room is used for rest and relaxation to give the children sufficient rest periods so that they can process impressions and recharge their batteries.

Outdoor Facilities

Whether on the newly designed playground or on walks in the neighbourhood - being outside is a valuable experience for the crèche children that supports their development in many ways.

Food

Healthy eating is very important to us. Our kitchen assistant prepares fresh meals for all the children every day.

Educational staff accompany the children to the dining room and support them as required.

  • We organise meals in a child-friendly way and teach the value of healthy eating in a playful way.
  • We take nutritional science standards into account.
  • Our food is prepared with regional and seasonal ingredients, recognising cultural and religious requirements.
  • When preparing food, we take into account any special health requirements or intolerances your child may have.
  • The children are allowed to help themselves from small containers according to their age and eat more if they are still hungry.
  • They learn to recognise their own needs and make decisions.

It is very important to us that eating is a positive experience and that there is no compulsion. This approach creates a relaxed and enjoyable atmosphere that makes children curious about different foods. Eating together is a valuable learning opportunity and strengthens the children's self-confidence.

Basics

For us, needs-orientated crèche work means

  • organising the daily routine flexibly and according to the individual needs of the children.
  • During free play, the children can choose for themselves what they want to play with and for how long.
  • individual sleeping times, tired children are allowed to sleep, awake children are allowed to stay awake.
  •  no pressure to eat, children can decide for themselves what and how much they eat.
  •  no abrupt changes between activities, but gentle announcements and time for orientation.

It is important to us to convey safety, independence and security to the children.
