A new replacement building is currently being built next to the daycare center, which is scheduled to open in 2026.

Introduction/specifics

We are currently in the process of building a new building. A new replacement building is being built next to our Haus der kleinen Schätze. The move is planned for the second quarter of 2026.

As a Protestant institution under church sponsorship, we attach great importance to conducting everyday life in accordance with our religious principles.
We respect other religious beliefs (eating habits, food) and are open to other religions.
We make use of religious rituals such as praying together, singing, telling and listening to religious stories, celebrating religious festivals...
Our basic educational approach at Haus der kleinen Schätze is based on the open concept. We are guided by Reggio pedagogy and incorporate Montessori pedagogy. Ideas from Friedrich Fröbel and Emmi Pikkler (in the crèche) are also integrated into our educational work.

Rooms

Kindergarten:
Our rooms have been converted into adventure/functional rooms. All educational areas from the Bavarian education and training plan are addressed in all rooms.
We offer the children the following rooms, which are attractively designed and encourage them to play:
Building room: building upwards and outwards with wooden building blocks, natural materials, construction toys, materials for shaping, fabrics, beads, beer mats....)
Playroom: role-playing games, board games, Montessori toys, various themed corners
Learning workshop: Tool bench with wood and wooden tools (screws, nails, hammer, saw...), materials for scientific and mathematical content
Creative room: Creative design with and without instructions, materials freely accessible or on request/by arrangement with the teacher
Painting workshop: Wet painting, with and without instruction, offers various techniques with and without instruction, art observations, e.g. Van Gogh, Hundertwasser, etc.
Multi-purpose room/gym: movement activities, quiet exercises, school preparation project, alternative room for all kinds of topics.
Bistro: taking and preparing food as an educational offer
Free play area with sandpit and various play activities

Crèche:
Our crèche works very individually and sensitively. The children can experience their everyday life in a protected environment: Crèche as a nest area
The crèche prepares for the open concept.
The crèche has the following rooms:

The group room, with a playscape, a kitchenette, a reading corner, a doll's kitchen and a “cave” for “hiding”. The centerpiece is a round carpet that covers all areas of the room.
The checkroom serves as an arrival and departure point. It is used as another alternative room for playing, moving around and other educational activities.
The bathroom has two crib toilets, a washbasin and a changing table
The bedroom has two sections and is designed with viewing windows to the other rooms to ensure that the crèche children are supervised at all times.

Outdoor Facilities

Kindergarten:
Free play area with sandpit and various play facilities
Shady trees
Campfire site
Playground
Asphalted area for cycling

Crèche with its own outdoor facilities:

Basics

At the Haus der kleinen Schätze kindergarten, we work according to the open concept. Children have no fixed rooms with us. They move through the kindergarten according to their interests and with the awareness of jointly established rules. They choose their play partners, rooms and the length of time they spend in the room at their own discretion, taking into account the daily routine.
It is important to us to allow the children to participate in decisions and planning - participation
As pedagogical staff, we work as initiators, companions, comforters, documenters and players. Our aim is to create something together with the children. - Construction
We believe that those who have touched things themselves, experienced them with all their senses and tried them out, can more easily remember and implement the knowledge gained.

Employee

Our House of Little Treasures employs 7 specialist staff, 2 supplementary staff, 1 housekeeper, two cleaners and a janitor.

Additional Offerings

We occasionally offer activities and projects from external providers, e.g. music, theater - puppet shows - swimming lessons - projects from the waste management association - excursions to the bakery, butcher, fire department - Red Cross courses for children, safety kids, etc.
Our activities and projects are tailored to the children's current interests and topics.
Throughout the year, there is a preparatory school project for children who will start school in the following kindergarten year.

Quality Assurance

We see quality assurance as an ongoing process in which we revise our pedagogical approach, principles and room design and adapt them to the circumstances (new guidelines, new children, new parents, new staff).
The concept is revised at regular intervals.
For us, quality assurance also includes: the implementation of the Bavarian education and training plan with documentation, observations and a development discussion for parents once a year.
We have an internal child protection concept with a sex education concept and work according to this.
All employees have the opportunity to take part in further and advanced training.
We continue to review our quality in the context of team-building days and concept days.
Parents have the opportunity to express their opinion in an annual evaluation form. The evaluation is made public within the facility.
We always find a suitable time for parents' concerns.

Teamwork with parents

It is important to us to make our parents feel accepted, respected and welcome. We make time for discussions and strive for empathy and understanding.
This type of cooperation helps the children to strengthen their trust in the educational staff.

We are committed to a good educational partnership with parents. We always try to take ideas and requests into consideration and implement them where possible.

We achieve transparency in our work by displaying our daily routine in a digital picture frame on the room doors and on a “What we have done” wall for parents to see.

Our parents' council is involved in decisions and planning and acts as a link between parents and staff.

Meetings with parents are possible at any time on request, in addition to door-to-door meetings. We reserve the right to invite parents to a meeting if necessary.

Our annual parent questionnaire offers parents the opportunity to express their own wishes, possibly even anonymously.

Specifics

The philosophy of the House of Little Treasures:
We believe in God as our creator and companion in life and in his son Jesus Christ, who is open to children: “Let the children come to me.”
Children are like a treasure, extraordinary, special. In our house of little treasures, we want to give children the opportunity to develop a special sparkle by cutting and polishing rough diamonds.
Our logo shows a young woman opening a treasure chest and releasing a shining ray of light that is directed at a cross. The cross reminds us of Jesus Christ. The cross is made of various gemstones, which we find in the names of our reference groups: Amber, Jade, Sapphire, Ruby, Onyx. A pearl is placed in the middle of the cross. Our crèche children have the group name “Pearl”. As the pearl is formed in a shell, it experiences a more intense sense of security in its shells compared to precious stones.

News

As a church-run facility, Christian rituals such as songs, prayers and Bible stories are part of our everyday life.
Festivals such as Harvest Festival, St. Martin's Day, Advent, Christmas and Easter are particularly emphasized. On St. Martin's Day and at Christmas, we invite parents to a celebration in the church.
We also plan trips to the butcher, theater visits, visits to the Hof Zoo with the children, as well as parent-child excursions, e.g. to the Sonnenlandpark in Chemnitz.
Our parents' council offers hikes and meetings for parents on their own initiative (joint barbecues, hikes, torchlight hikes).

Overview

According to §20 paragraph 9ff. of the Infection Protection Act (IfSG), proof of a measles vaccination or a certificate of immunity against measles must be presented for admission to the daycare center.
Presentation of the 1st vaccination: No later than one month after the child turns 1 year old
Submission of the 2nd vaccination: No later than one month after the child turns 2 years old

When registering a child in our Protestant institution under church sponsorship, the implementation of religious values must be expected.

We accept children from 8 weeks of age in our crèche.
Admission of an infant to the crèche must and should remain an exception! We reserve the right to check the urgency of admission with the parents in detail.

When the child is admitted to the crèche, a 5-week settling-in period is to be expected, which is individually tailored to the child. It serves to ensure a smooth transition from the parental home to the crèche. For this reason, a parent/guardian accompanies the child during this time.
We also offer a settling-in period in the kindergarten, which, as in the crèche, is individually tailored to the child.
The start of the settling-in period begins at the pedagogical discretion of the group leader. The time is agreed with the parents, but is not always the first of the month of admission.
When changing from crèche to kindergarten, there is a change to the open concept: the children are prepared for the open concept in the crèche.
